The merge utilities in the current version of Open Office (2.x) are a bit inflexible. The utilities here merge up OOWriter documents from an Excel file containing the merge data, and an ordinary OOWriter document file used as a template.

The code here in a rough state, and apart from the merge module, it is not as general as it might be. It does serve to illustrate how easily OOWriter document content can be manipulated, however, and is offered here in case it might be useful to others.
